FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022

In December 2010, Qatar won the bid to host the 2022 World Cup. The bid was won over the US, South Korea, Japan and Australia.

Consequently, the FIFA World Cup 2022 will now be held in Qatar from November 20 to December 18, making this the second time the world cup will be hosted in Asia.

Oclas Group | Oclas Consulting went on a tour on the 20th of June 2022 of one of the seven new stadiums built in and around Doha to host the 64 matches, and Al Thumama Stadium piqued our interest as a venue steeped in culture and tradition. The stadium was designed to look like a Gahfiya, a traditional woven head cap worn by men throughout the Middle East

Moreover, Al Thumama’s sustainability features which include a refurbished energy centre, LED lighting and efficient heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, earned a five-star sustainability rating. It's evident that the stadium was developed to demonstrate Qatar’s commitment to innovation and sustainable building. We applaud the Qatar Government for attaining this historic milestone. Now looking forward to learning more about the culture and the way of the people of Qatar while enjoying the #WorldCup
