On September 2nd, 2024, Sheyi Lisk-Carew, CEO and Founder of Oclas Consulting, had the honour of attending one of Britain’s oldest and most distinguished traditions—the Ceremony of the Keys at the Tower of London. This evening, steeped in historical significance, was a perfect setting to blend the past with the present, offering an exceptional opportunity to connect and network with prominent figures in business and leadership.

Accompanied by His Excellency Abdul Al Omran, Mr Alexander Ogbechie, Mark Huxley FRSA (Master of the Company of Entrepreneurs), and Neil Fullbrook, the mastermind behind the event, the evening began with a private guided tour of the Tower’s historic grounds. The knowledgeable Yeoman Warder brought the ancient stories of the Tower to life, narrating tales of intrigue and loyalty. It was a reminder to those in attendance that the values which built great empires—strategy, discipline, and adaptability—are as relevant today in the world of business as they were centuries ago.

The highlight of the evening was the Ceremony of the Keys, a tradition still carried out with military precision after more than 700 years. Witnessing this centuries-old event at Traitors’ Gate was a humbling experience, reminding everyone present of the timeless importance of tradition, respect, and duty—values that Oclas Consulting strives to embody in its approach to business.

Following the ceremony, the group moved to a private club within the Tower to continue discussions in a more relaxed setting. Here, cigars were enjoyed in the ancient surroundings, a privilege that few could boast of. It was a unique moment, sharing a cigar within the historic walls of the Tower, discussing leadership, innovation, and the future of global business. For Sheyi Lisk-Carew and the team at Oclas Consulting, it was a powerful reminder of how tradition and innovation can co-exist and fuel progress.

The evening also provided an excellent opportunity to network with like-minded leaders. Whether discussing the global energy landscape, the future of mobility, or simply the nuances of fine cigars, the conversations were rich and enlightening. Such events reinforce the idea that successful businesses are built on strong relationships, and these relationships are often cultivated in settings where trust, respect, and camaraderie are at the forefront.

This event also marked a key moment for Oclas Consulting as the company continues to bridge the gap between tradition and innovation. With clients spanning industries from energy to finance, Oclas Consulting’s ability to draw from history while embracing cutting-edge solutions has been a cornerstone of its success.

Sheyi Lisk-Carew would like to extend gratitude to Mark Huxley FRSA and Neil Fullbrook for their meticulous organisation of the event and for fostering an environment that nurtures meaningful connections. These connections, whether with new clients or old friends, are what continue to drive Oclas Consulting towards greater heights.

As we look ahead, Oclas Consulting remains committed to helping businesses navigate the complexities of tomorrow’s challenges, using lessons from the past to fuel innovation and growth. If you share our vision of driving sustainable growth and innovation through collaboration, we invite you to connect with us. Together, we can shape the future.
